My children are always asking me how they can make things grow faster. No matter what it is that they want to grow, they always want to do it fast, fast, fast. I guess that is the instant gratification generation speaking. I almost feel a bit old when listening to them at times, I quite enjoy the slow things in life and at times I do wish they would see the beauty of the wait and the longing.
I guess bingo is a bit like planting a seed. When you find a new bingo site you like you might be very keen on seeing the return on your investment of time and money immediately. At some sites and if you are very lucky you do get rewarded instantaneously upon signing up with the site. There are deposit bonuses and free money and possibly even free bingo immediately available to you at the click of a button.
But will all this make you happy? Usually I have heard so many people comment on the fact that yes they do sign up to sites, but actually never end up using their free money even to get into the game. I always wondered why they would leave this FREE MONEY lying around without putting it to good use. Well the other day I think I realised what it is.
The people who get the most out of the bingo site are the ones who are actually continuously investing in the site themselves. They have realised that just like anything in life the expression TANSTAAFL applies in the Bingo world as well. TANSTAAFL or There Aint No Such Thing As A Free Lunch basically summarizes the fact that whatever you get for free you will have to give something back for at some point.
In Bingo the fact that you get free money or great first deposit bonuses is just part of the fun. To really get the most out of the site you have to put stuff in as well. You have to invest things such as time and effort to get to know the other players, the chat masters, the games etc in order to have the best experience possible. Money isn’t everything after all, not even in bingo.
So while I was repotting my plants yesterday I realised that the time I am investing in my flowers now will give me so much happiness when I see them bloom later this summer. Its the same thing with bingo, the time I have invested while playing a bit of bingo every day, getting to know my fellow players and the chat masters in the game as well as all the fun games available will be rewarded back to me many times over in the form of the FUN I will have in a community I know and with a game I feel comfortable and at home with.
Now THAT is definitely worth while investing in.. Just like you should be doing with your plants. And hopefully seeing you not so focussed on instant gratification will help your children as well realise that most things in life you have to wait for..
